TARYN HADFIELD
Taryn Hadfield writes songs that feel both intimate and slightly out of reach, like memories you’re not sure belong entirely to you. Rooted in indie folk but unbound by it, her music drifts between acoustic textures, subtle pop instincts, and moments of quiet, cinematic lift. There’s a sense of movement in her work—songs that evolve rather than resolve, led as much by feeling as by form.
Raised in the quiet suburbs of Idaho, Hadfield began sharing music in an unlikely place: livestreaming on Twitch. What started as a direct, unfiltered connection with listeners quickly grew into a global audience drawn to her honesty and instinctive songwriting. That same sense of immediacy carries through her recorded work, where her lyrics sit somewhere between personal confession and imagined narrative—never overstated, always searching.
Her debut album Manic Pixie Dream Girl introduced that voice on a wider scale, landing on the 2022 GRAMMY® nominating ballot for Album of the Year and Best New Artist, and charting in the Top 20 on PlayMPE Rock. Since then, Hadfield has continued to build her footing in the Pacific Northwest, with performances at Treefort Music Fest, Northwest Folklife Festival, and TwitchCon.
Her latest single, “Nice Story,” marks a subtle shift. Built around acoustic bass, bossa nova rhythms, and swelling guitar lines, the track moves with an understated confidence, questioning the line between genuine connection and the narratives we create to make sense of it. It’s less about answers than awareness—about recognizing when something feels real, and when it simply sounds good in the telling.
Across her work, Hadfield resists easy definition. Her songs don’t push for attention; they invite it, rewarding listeners who lean in.
