Jake Hansen

No two people see the world the same way. Jake Hansen draws from the best and worst moments of his life and the lives of those around him. Hansens refreshingly honest and intimate lyrics swim in sounds that are modern, and nostalgic. His songs full of texture and harmony underpin a strong, smooth and emotion filled voice that calls to mind artists like Ryan Tedder of One Republic, Finneas, the Beatles and Ben Rector.

In the summer of Jakes freshman year of High-school, he auditioned for the Arts West School for the Performing and Visual Arts. What Jake calls his “first and worst audition” would become the day that changed the direction of his life forever. Jake was offered a scholarship and began attending Arts West the next year. His time in the award winning vocal jazz collective group directed by Jeff Baker, fueled his obsession with harmonies, and pushed Jakes writing to a new place.

After graduating, Jake moved nearly half way around the world to Eastern Africa, where he spent two years in Ethiopia and Uganda. The people in Ethiopia and Uganda took a huge place in Jakes heart and his time there translated into a major source or perspective for the young singer-songwriter. After recently returning to Eastern Africa accompanied by his mother, he is inspired to begin working on his debut album. More than anything, Jake hopes to help others feel and find their infinite divine value.
